Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the BestMe learning application at app.bestme.in and related pages operated under the BestMe name. In this policy, “BestMe”, “we”, and “us” refer to the operator of this service. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to navneet@bestme.in.

2. Information we collect

• Google account information: when you sign in, we may receive your name, email address, profile image, and a provider-specific account identifier.
• Learning activity: cards viewed, progress, completion state, saved items, selected subjects, and feedback you choose to provide.
• Technical information: session cookies, browser and device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, request logs, and security or error events.
• Messages: information included when you email us or submit feedback.

We do not ask for passwords because authentication is handled through Google and Supabase. Do not send sensitive medical, legal, financial, or identity documents in feedback emails.

3. Why we use information

• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To provide the feed, saves, progress, and continuity across sessions.
• To operate, troubleshoot, protect, and improve the beta product.
• To respond to support, privacy, and feedback requests.
• To comply with law, prevent misuse, and enforce our terms.

4. Service providers

We use service providers to operate BestMe. These currently include Google for OAuth sign-in, Supabase for authentication and application data, and Vercel for hosting and delivery. Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business reorganisation subject to appropriate safeguards.

5. Cookies and similar storage

BestMe uses essential cookies and browser storage to maintain sign-in state, protect requests, and remember necessary application state. We do not currently use advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.

6. Retention and security

We retain account and learning data while your account is active and for a reasonable period needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect security. We aim to delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we use access controls, encrypted connections, managed infrastructure, and limited-access credentials appropriate to a beta service.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, update, or delete personal data; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; and raise a grievance. Email navneet@bestme.in from the address connected to your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

8. Children

If applicable law requires parental or guardian consent for a person to use an online service, that person may use BestMe only with valid consent and supervision. A parent or guardian may contact us about a child’s information. We do not knowingly use children’s information for behavioural advertising or tracking.

9. International processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on contractual, technical, or legal safeguards for those transfers.

10. Changes

BestMe is in beta, so our features and data practices may evolve. We will update this page and its effective date when the policy changes materially. Where appropriate, we will also provide an in-product notice.
